GN Mud Recycling System for ZJ30 Drilling Rig

This mud recycling system includes 3-unit tanks of processing tank, mud mixing tank and storage tank. All 3 tanks are same dimension and the onsite layout is linear type. The processing tank of the mud system includes all the 4 stages of solids control and 5 stages purification process. The first stage solids control is 2 unit shale shakers with 3-panel screens, the capacity of the shaker unit is 120 cubic meters per hour. After the shale shaker, the vacuum degasser is located to remove the gas in the drilling mud thus the working efficiency of the centrifugal pump could be greatly increased, Thus the cyclone would have sufficient pressure when the mud was fed. This ZJ30 rig mud system could be equipped with separate de-sanding and de-silting unit. The de-sanding unit and the de-silting unit is cost less. There is another option of mud cleaner could be installed to replace the de-sanding and de-silting unit. The under shaker of the mud cleaner could be used for further drying the solids particles.

According to the space on the mud tank top, the centrifuge unit is designed located on the second tank. This second tank is divided into 2 or 3 compartments, one of the compartments is used as the centrifuge compartments and the rest compartments are used to store the active drilling mud.

The mud mixing unit is installed on the third tank with 45 kw mixing pump to mix the drilling mud in all the mud storage compartments. Besides the mixing pump, this ZJ30 mud system is also equipped with shearing pump that is used to cut the polymers mud chemicals. This shearing pump would be connected with a chemicals tank which used to mixing the drilling mud chemicals.

GN’s this type de-sanding unit includes shaker unit and de-sander cyclone installed on over the shaker. This separation unit can process 2 stages solids control. Under the shaker, a catching tank can used to temporally store the active drilling mud; it also has a transferring pump to pump the mud to drilling rig or to storage tank. The contractor can use other type storage tank to connect with this de-sanding unit and get a skid mounted jet mud mixing unit to compose a drilling mud recycling system that has larger mud storage capacity and mud mixing function.

In order to satisfy the demands of the weight limit for shakers, GN shale shakers can be modified by disassembling shaker bottom or feeding box. The vibration motors are world famous brands such as Martin or OLI. G force is also adjustable (usually it’s 7.1 G).

1. GN Cuttings Dryer Unit
GN Cuttings Dryer is fixed on one telescopic skid, working height can be adjusted when the dryer is working or transporting. VFD control cabinet and flushing pump can be located on the skid. GN Drying Shaker is especially used to treat WBM. One set of GNZS594HGE-LD shaker is mounted on the top of a tapered mud tank. Drill cuttings separated by primary shakers can be transferred to GN Hi-G shaker by a screw conveyor. The cuttings discharged by drying shaker can be feed into a GN centrifuge for further separation.

The structure of GN Decanter Centrifuge Unit is pretty the same as GN Cuttings Dryer Unit, it’s also fixed on one telescopic skid. One positive displacement pump and one variable speed control cabinet (optional) can be also fixed on the skid.

4. GN Solidification Unit
GN Solidification or Stabilization Unit is mainly used to treat the cuttings from desander, desilter, cuttings dryer or decanter centrifuge. All these cuttings are collected in the large hopper of GN solidification unit. 5. GN Cuttings Transfer Unit
This unit is mainly used to storage and transfer the cuttings from GN dryer or GN Hi-G shaker. Drill cuttings discharged from the shakers or desilters are transferred to the collection hopper. Then the cuttings are feed by one vacuum cuttings pump.
6. GN Intermediary Mud Transfer Unit

This mud unit includes cylindrical tank, submersible pump, mud agitator and control cabinet. GN mud agitator keeps the inner mud (which usually comes from Hi-G shaker) from sedimentation, and GN submersible pump helps to pump the fluid into GN decanter centrifuge.
7. GN Catching Tank Unit
GN also provides modular catching tank unit to storage and transfer those hazardous waste. Special design to lock the mud tank when transporting keeps the fluid from spill.

The treating capacity of GN solidification unit is 10 m³/h. By adding into different materials, the drill cuttings can be changed into solid, which is very convenient to bury. All the drilling cuttings, no matter OBM, WBM can be treated by GN solidification unit.

The main component of GN Solidification Unit:
1. Collecting Hopper
The collecting hopper is used to carry the cuttings, capacity can reach to 5 m³. There is one screw conveyor (with the motor of 7.5kw) under the collecting hopper to transfer drill cuttings to High- shear mixer.
2. Storage box
Two storage boxes are used to storage chemicals and cements separately. Each one can storage 1000L materials. There are two screw conveyors (1.1 kw) under these storage boxes. So all the chemicals and cements can also be feed into the high-shear mixer for shearing.
3. High-shear mixer
The High-shear mixer is used to mix all the drill cuttings with absorber and cements together. The shear with a large force can mix these things thoroughly. There’s also one liquid inlet, chemicals can be also be added to help mix the drill cuttings.
