GN Cuttings Dryer and GN Hi-G Shaker for Treating Oil Cuttings

GN Solids Control has provided thousands of oil cuttings treating equipment. GN Cuttings Dryer’s running speed up to 900RPM, when the separation factor is 420G. It’s effectively used in separation of cuttings in the liquid, with patented design of high-chromium cast iron scraper. GN Cuttings Dryer can be used for a long service life, with high-pressure air knife assembly which can effectively prevent the inside screen basket block. Independent oil cooling system is effectively used to meet the high temperature environment.
Treating capacity is 30-50 tons per hour ( processing capacity varies when we treat different drilling fluids with different mud density and viscosity). GN Cuttings Dryer‘s drying efficiency and processing precision have reached the International standards.

Decanter Centrifuge
GN Hi-G shaker is using world famous vibrator: USA Martin and Italy OLI. Many shakers delivered to Houston are without motor and they will be assembled with USA local vibrators. With the large G force reach to 8.0 G, GN Hi-G shaker is effectively used in treating the water cuttings. Four pieces of shaker screens are assembled on GN shaker. GN Solids Control also manufactures composite material shaker screens, which can be used for a much longer time without broken when compared with metal frame shaker screens.

GN Delivered 1500GPM Mud System for Hong Kong Client

GN Solids Control has provided many sets of large mud recycling systems to Asia clients. Just several days before, GN Solids Control finished the manufacturing of one set 1500 GPM mud system for one client in Hong Kong.
GN Solids Control designs and manufactures various mud treating systems, from standard mud systems such as 200 GPM, 300 GPM, 500 GPM to 1000 GPM. Customized mud systems are also manufactured based on clients’ demands.
This 1500 GPM mud is one turnkey solution for mud treating and recycling. In this system, there are two sets shale shakers, one set mud cleaners (with 3 sets 10 inch desander cyclones and 16 sets 4 inch desilter cyclones). All those shale shakers and mud cleaners are assembled on one mud tank. GN centrifugal pumps are also provided for provide the slurry into those two size cyclones.

One separate mud compartment is used to mixing the clean mud with GN mud agitator. Sometimes, one GN jet mud mixer is also equipped on the mud treating and mixing system for adding new chemicals.
GN control boxes are fixed on the mud tank skid, they are used to control the on and off of mud agitators and centrifugal pumps. One auxiliary ladder is also fixed for convenient work and easy maintenance.

Shearing mixing hopper and jet Mud Mixing System for drilling mud system

Jet mud mixing system is a normal and necessary part of most kind of drilling mud systems and liquid mud plant (LMP). It is used to prepare new mud and qualified mud, and service for drilling activities. The mud mixing system can be used to mix oil based mud (OBM), water based mud (WBM), as well as synthetic based mud (SBM).

Jet mud mixing system is actually a combination of mixing pump, mixing hopper and control panel. All of them connected by pipelines, they can be mounted on the tank separately per tank layout. They can also be mounted on the same skid as a complete unit.

The jet mixing hopper is also called shearing hopper. It can be mounted on different position of the mud cleaning system for different purpose.

Centrifugal pump is the most popular pump model for jet mud mixing system. Another pump model is shearing hopper. Clients can choose motor drive mixing pump, or diesel engine drive mixing pump, to meet for different demands.

1) The jet mixing hopper can be mounted on the top of the mud tank. Advantage of the tank top hopper is easy for mixing chemical as the gravity. But you should to consider lifting of the chemicals. Sometimes, it is even 1 ton big bag. you should consider the necessary device to help for the chemical lifting. Operation table and crane cradle is the popular way to service for it.

2) The normal way is to put the shearing mixing hopper on the tank skid, next to centrifugal mixing pump. The mixing performance may not as good as on the tank top, but also acceptable. And it is easier for the chemical lifting.

3) Another way for the shearing hopper is on a separate skid with centrifugal mixing pump and control system. The complete is in a separate skid. It is more flexible for application. Users is easy to more the mixing unit from one jobsite to another jobsite, or move it from one tank for another.

The Working Process of GN Oil Sludge Treating Equipment
GN Solids Control manufactures varieties of sludge treating equipment. Oil sludge or industrial sludge is two typical sludge that clients are treating quite often with the increasing demands and awareness of environment protection.
GN Solids Control provides turnkey solution for oil sludge treatment. So how the working process of oil sludge with GN equipments?
1. An excavator is used to put the oil sludge in one Feeding Hopper with screw conveyor. The large V-type hopper is used to collect the all those sludge before feeding into one Sludge Washing Machine.
2. The GN Sludge Washing Machine is fixed with hot water and steam feeding pipes as well as mud agitators. Hot water and SAS chemicals are added into the oil sludge and hot steam is also feed into the sludge washing tank in order to have a better fluidity.
3. GN Hi-G Shaker (G force up to 8.0G) will separating the oil sludge that feed by one screw pump. GN Screw Pump is using the world famous brand—Netzch. Here the oil sludge is separated into two parts: oil slurry (a little bit cleaner) and coarse solids (oil is less than 2%).
4. With the help of one GN Flocculants System, those oil slurry will be pumped into GN decanter centrifuge. GN centrifuges are widely used for 2 phase separation. Solids larger than 2-5 microns can be separated out by GN decanter centrifuge. By adding some chemicals in the oil slurry, small solids will be gathered and separated out. And the fine solids can be further treated by one TDU to eliminate all the oil in the solids.


5. For those liquids discharged from decanter centrifuge, they will be send into one Oil and Water Separator. Then the clean oil and clean water can be carried and transported to other work sites. Besides, the recycled water can be send to a heater to provide hot steam and hot water.

  3. Desander plant or slurry plant for Trenchless projects or TBM projects. The mud system or so called desander plant are similar with the HDD projects’ mud recycling systems. How to reduce the operation cost of a liquid mud plant for oil and gas drilling field

Liquid mud plant is a supporting base for oil and gas drilling rigs. Normally, a liquid mud plant will service some oil rigs nearby. It is essential to keep the liquid mud plant fluently and smoothly. Once there is a urgent request from drilling rigs, liquid mud plant should mix and offer qualified drilling fluids immediately.

Liquid mud plant is mostly used to make oil base mud. Diesel oil is widely stocked and used here as base oil. It has pollution to the environment. Government has strict rules and prohibits any oil leakage to environment.

So there will be a dam around the liquid mud plant to prevent any leakage come out of the liquid mud plant base. In normal conditions, it is ok. But when there is a raining, things will be difficult. The liquid mud plant need to use huge quality of pure water to make qualified mud. Even for the oil based mud, they need to use pure water. It should be a good idea to reuse the rain water for mud mixing system . If the rain water can be used to make oil based mud, it will be a big save. The liquid mud plant can save cost on rain water treatment, as well as water for mud mixing.

Another big cost is the storage of old drilling fluids. After some circulation, the drilling fluids will be not qualified for drilling, as there are too much ultra fine solids inside, the mud is weighted. Decanter centrifuge is very important at this stage, It can remove the fine solids inside the old drilling fluids and make it qualified to drilling rigs. The quality of liquid mud plant depends on the mud storage capacity of each liquid mud plant. The main equipments in GNMS-500GL system including: shaker, mud cleaner (with desander and desilter cyclones) and mixing tank.
A submersible pump is usually used to pump the mud to the GN shaker, which is GNZS703E-DE with 3 panels’ shaker screens assembled on it. Drilling mud separated by the shaker will fall off to the bottom tank, which will be feed by one centrifugal pump to the 10inch desander cyclones for the next phase separation. Then the 4 inch desilter cyclones will help to remove much finer solids most of them are above 25mircons.

From the working function, the first shaker and mud cleaner tank is also called shaker tank, while for the rest part it is called mixing and storage tank.
