1) 1 set 4 panel shale shaker, GNZS594E-HB, This shaker with 4 panel shaker screen can have high performance when treating drilling mud. The composite material shaker screen is replacement screen for Swaco Mongoose screen, but more cost-effective, better price and good quality.

2) 1 set mud cleaner, GNZJ594-2S12N. The mud cleaner is combination of down deck shale shaker with 4 panel shaker screen & 2 desander cones & 12 desilter cones. This is combination of second phase treatment & third phase treatment.

3) 2 set centrifugal pumps for feeding desander cones & desilter cones. GN centrifugal pumps can also work with mud hopper, mud pump etc. Sometimes, client use our centrifugal pump as diesel pump for short time.

4) we one pipe to connect the shale shaker & mud cleaner, butterfly valve controlled the opening. When client have a bigger overflow, the client can distribute the drilling mud to mud cleaner down deck shaker directly. In this case, the treating capacity can reach to around 700gpm.

Drilling cuttings solidification unit and cuttings disposal solution

Drilling cuttings solidification unit is one of the solution of cuttings disposal, it is also called stabilization unit. It is an effective solution for both water based cuttings disposal and oil based/ synthetic based cuttings disposal.

Why should we pay more attention of cuttings disposal？

Obviously, The waste cuttings will damage the environment, lead a heavy pollution and contaminate the under groundwater and influence the Sustainable Development.

There are 4 common ways for the drilling cuttings disposal”

Modular Drilling Waste Management

The main difference between them is the installation of the decanter centrifuge, the centrifuge is installed on the telescopic skid in proposal A, the centrifuge is installed on the catch tank on proposal B, they are 2 main methods in the existing projects.

The modular drilling waste management unit including high-G drying shaker unit and decanter centrifuge telescopic skid unit are the main equipments for water based cuttings treatment.

After treated by GN drilling waste management unit, solidification unit will be used for water based mud, and thermal desorption unit will be used for OBM and SOBM. The OOC in the discharged dry cuttings from the vertical cuttings dryer is under 5%, sometimes it reach 3.7%, in some countries, it is acceptable for environmental standard for land filling. In some counties where has more strict environment standard for the cuttings disposal, a further equipments TDU is necessary.

Although the whole China will be on holiday for the coming 7 days, GN Solids Control is still busy for an urgent order of a mud plant including 4 mud tanks and mixing equipments. Those cargoes are scheduled to deliver to the loading port during the National Day of China.

1. GNLW series decanter centrifuges are always the most popular products among the end users, especially the GNLW363 high speed decanter centrifuge. For the same size decanter centrifuge, GN has 4 optional models, high configuration and standard configuration, for each configuration, there is both VFD controlled and fixed speed available. This model is suitable for both solids control and waste management.

GNLW452 is also a popular model, which is big bowl centrifuge perfect for barite recovery.

Most of the drilling project will need a drilling mud recycling unit to reduce the drilling cost and promote the drilling process. In normal oil and gas drilling project, always the usage of the drilling fluids is very large that need several mud tanks to store the drilling mud. Different from this type drilling, there are several other drilling projects that no need a large drilling mud volume. The footprint and cost are the key factors the contractor will consider.

GN has a self-contained drilling mud system designed especially for HDD project. As per the flow capacity, the mud system design is classified into 200GPM, 350GPM, 500GPM, 800GPM, 1000GPM and 1500GPM. Most of the design only has one skid with all primary solids control equipment installed on one tank. According to the mud storage capacity requirement, additional storage tanks may be needed. Some users request decanter centrifuge for fine solids separation. Always this type mud system has all mud recycling equipment, transferring pump and mud mixing equipment. Comparing with oil drilling mud system, the HDD mud system has smaller footprint and the cost is less.

For some drilling project like the piling process or TBM drilling, the separation of drilling mud is not so strict. GN’s this type de-sanding unit includes shaker unit and de-sander cyclone installed on over the shaker. This separation unit can process 2 stages solids control. Under the shaker, a catching tank can used to temporally store the active drilling mud; it also has a transferring pump to pump the mud to drilling rig or to storage tank. The contractor can use other type storage tank to connect with this de-sanding unit and get a skid mounted jet mud mixing unit to compose a drilling mud recycling system that has larger mud storage capacity and mud mixing function.

It is the purpose of design is to remove the gas that is mixed in with drilling fluid, often flammable, to make sure safety of the whole drilling rig. Decanter Centrifuge is the machine that use high rotating speed in gravity force to separate solids from water. The decanter centrifugeis also able to separate two liquids that differ in density as well if higher rotating speed is reached by more powerful motor which can produce higher RPM. Depending the RPM of the decanter centrifuge motor, it can produce the rotation force in 1000 times and beyond on normal gravitational force. The separation time need it from minutes to hours. The bowl tube that equip with internal conveyor rotate in extreme high speed that moves in same direction but at different velocity to achieve solids separation from liquid. Many industry such as oil and gas field, food processing field, chemical plant and environment treatment company are using decanter centrifuge. The only difference between these industry choosing decanter centrifuge is material in the rotating bowl. When choosing a decanter centrifuge, ensure wetted parts that makes contact with treat subject are made with high quality of steel. Decanter centrifuge use to treat chemical and subject that will cause corrosion like drilling fluid in oil and gas industry, the metal need to choose forged titanium or haste alloy. While food process industry, it is need to be aware of polished stainless steel because of buildup of bacteria.
