GN Cuttings Dryers in Houston warehouse

GN Solids Control is famous company who has working on solids control and drilling cuttings management for many years. Now GN equipments are divided into two parts: solids control, drilling cuttings management.

GN cuttings dryer is very popular in the WBM and OBM treating. Now many cuttings dryer manufacturers can deal with OBM, but there’re not many companies can deal with WBM well. Generally speaking, GN cuttings dryers are used to separate the solids that smaller than 3 mm in the drilling fluids. The expensive drilling fluids can be reused by separating with GN cuttings dryer and decanter centrifuge. 1 m³ clean drilling fluids can be recycled from the 3 m³ by using GN drilling cuttings management systems, treating capacity is different for different fluids with various densities and viscosities.
There are three types of screen baskets: 250 microns, 350 microns as well as 500 microns. The minimum cuttings size can be separated out is 250 microns. Distance between screen basket and flight is only 1 mm, which can be modified when the flight is wear after using for a long period.
GN automatic lubricating system can pump oil inside the cuttings dryer automatically, which keeps the key parts in a good using condition. Cuttings can be feed by a screw conveyor or cuttings pump to the top outlet of the cuttings dryer. There’s one distribution disc that separates all the cuttings evenly.
Four sets of flushing ports around the inside shell are used to protect the liquid ring from blocked. One flushing pump (usually positive placement pump) is needed to provide water or diesel for cleaning. GN also has one special design parts air knife system, which can provide high pressure air to blow away those cuttings blocked on screen basket.

1. GN Shaker
This mud cleaner has one bottom shale shaker with 4 pieces of shaker screens. The screens are totally compatible with Mongoose screens. Now GN has two types of shaker screens can be chose: one is steel frame, the other is composite material. Generally speaking, the composite material screens are much more cost-effective.
2. GN Desander
There are two sets of 10 inch cyclones on the shaker. These cyclones are used to separating the solids that larger than 40 microns.
3. GN Desilter
It consists of 12 sets 4 inch cyclones on the shaker too. Solids that larger than 25 microns can be separated out by these 4 inch cyclones.
When using this GN mud cleaner, two centrifugal pumps will be needed to pump the fluids to desander and desilter.

GN Solids Control Co. Ltd has many experience engineers, who are keep designing advance equipments to meet our customers changing demands. Now the new invented GN Drill Cuttings Solidification Unit is delivered to one large client’s worksite for drilling cuttings further separation.
Now all the drilling cuttings can be treated by GN decanter centrifuge and GN cuttings dryer, which are all mechanical separation. Oil in the cuttings can be controlled around 5%. But due to the strict environment protection rule, it’s better to find a cost effective way to treat the cuttings less than 5% oil.
GN Solidification Unit can mix cement and silicon or some other chemicals thoroughly with the drill cuttings, so after fully mixing and chemical reaction, the solids come out from GN Solidification Unit can be reused for construction materials. drilling solidification unit
GN Solidification Unit includes the following parts:
1. GN Cuttings Hopper
The cuttings hopper is used to storage all the cuttings from High G drying shaker or decanter centrifuge. Capacity reaches to 5 CBM.
2. GN Screw Conveyor

3. Two Storage Boxes
One is used for storaging cement and the other one is used to storage absorber. There is separated screw conveyor connected to the storage box, so they can be transferred to the shearing tank.
4. Mixing Tank
All the cuttings, cement, absorber as well as some necessary liquid chemicals will be thoroughly mixed and sheared. So the solidified cuttings will be pushed to the oue let and discharged, then they can be reused for construction materials etc.
Besides this GN Solidification Unit, GN also provides two High G shakers to this client. All the drill fluids will be separated by GN drying shaker in advance.

GN Won Great Success in MIOGE 2015

The great show MIOGE 2015 show in Russia just ended last week, GN Solids Control Co. Ltd won great success in this wonderful ceremony in Russia. For the decanter centrifuge and cuttings dryer that exhibited in this show, many visitors showed interests and would like to try them in a proper time.
This year, GN Solids Control shipped advanced cutting dryer and decanter centrifuge to attend this show. Many large clients have been using GN equipments for a long time, and they are pretty satisfied with the working performance and treating capacity. russia oil show
In end beginning if this year, there were 4 sets of drilling waste management systems including the decanter centrifuges, cuttings dryers, skid, middle tank and screw conveyors using in Russia under the especially cold weather. All these 4 sets were purchase by Baker Hughes for the OBM (oil base mud) separating. Even the temperature was merely minus 40, all GN decanter centrifuges, cuttings dryers and screw conveyors were working perfectly well. GN decanter centrifuge and cuttings dryer won great success in the Russia market, and now we have many other successful projects that are operating in Russia. For the other countries, such as America, Canada, Mexico, GN solids control and drilling waste management systems are also well known by most of the drilling companies.
The decanter centrifuge in this show is GNLW363CG, which is the C version. Compared with the former B version, the centrifuge has upgraded some parts for better separating results and larger treating capacity.
Besides, the cuttings dryer is a more compact new design with the rotating speed reach to 1200RPM. GN has provided many sets of cuttings dryer in Chinese market and global markets. Just several days before, GN Solids Control finished the manufacturing of 6 sets vertical cuttings dryer in Beijing factory. And those dryer will be sent to Algeria for the OBM treating.

GN Drilling Waste Management for OBM and WBM Treating

GN Solids Control has been designing and manufacturing many sets of drilling waste management systems for global clients. Now GN solids control and drilling waste management equipments are exported to over 60 countries.
GN Drilling Waste Management systems can treat oil base mud, water base mud. It’s obvious to know, in order to get a better separating performance we need to treat the oil base mud and water base mud separately. GN waste management systems are composed of cuttings dryer and decanter centrifuge.
The largest advantage of GN cuttings dryer is it can treat with OBM and WBM. For some drilling rigs, in the primary drilling period most of the fluids are water base mud, the oil based mud will be used as the rig drilling much deeper. So only buy one cuttings dryer, you can use it for all the drilling process.
Now many large clients are using GN drilling waste management systems, such as Shell used one whole unit to separate the OBM in the shale gas drilling process. And Baker Hughes is using 4 sets of drilling waste management systems to do their drilling work in extremely cold environment.

According to the survey made by Shell, oil in the final cuttings treated by GN cuttings dryer will be around 5%, and it will be reached to 3.75% when you feeding with few drilling mud.
Now GN has upgraded our cuttings dryer to the forth version: the rotating speed can reach to 1200 RPM, separating performance is better than the third version. For the decanter centrifuge, GN engineers also gave some creative and practical modifications: mud is feed to the large end of the rotating bowl, some outlets on the screw propeller is added, one flexible bow is fixed on the solids discharge port to avoid block etc.

Different Usages for GN Cuttings Dryer and GN Hi-G Shaker

GN Solids Control manufactures 60 sets to 100 sets cuttings dryers every year. It can be used to separate OBM or WBM. Usually, in order to save cost the Hi-G shaker will be a replacement solution to separate the WBM, while the cuttings dryer can be used to treat OBM.
For the cuttings that separated by shale shaker, mud cleaner, it contains around 20% oil. Then these cuttings will be feed into the cuttings dryer. If we use GN High G Drying Shaker, normally we can get the oil on the cuttings around 10-12%. But if we use GN cuttings dryer, we can get the oil on the cuttings to be 3-5%. For every 100 Tons drilling cuttings, without using TDU to heat the drilling cuttings, our clients can recycle additional 7 Tons oil.

The treating capacity of GN vertical cuttings dryer is around 30~40 Tons/H. Solids that larger than 250 microns will be separated out, while the smaller size solids will be left in the drilling fluids.
The wet material enter the TDU will reduce the capacity dramatically as we know. The solids come out from GN cuttings dryer and GN Hi-G shaker can be send to TDU for further separation, but due to the oil in the cuttings is not the same ( 3-5% OOC cuttings after treated by GN cuttings dryer and 10-12% OOC cuttings after treated by GN Hi-G Shaker), the difference is pretty obvious. By using the cuttings dryer, it will increase capacity of the TDU, and the electricity cost will be saved.

The wet material will also increase the load of the other unit of TDU system. Like the Vapor Recovery Unit, Cooling Tower Skid, Oil water separator etc. As we know, the capacity for TDU is very small if the material especially when the materials are very wet.
Generally Speaking, considering the TDU don’t have a large treating capacity, so the cuttings can be treated by one GN cuttings dryer, one GN Hi-G shaker. Sometimes, you also need one GN decanter centrifuge for much finer solids separation.

GN solids control new designed mud recycling system with decanter centrifuge has been used for HDD mud recovery. Normally the client did not use decanter centrifuge, but for some special projects, the solids size are very fine, the 4 inch desilter cones are not enough, they have to use the decanter centrifuge to separate the fine solids. CPP, short for China Petroleum Pipeline Bureau, is the China largest Horizontal Directional Drilling Contractor, they have bought over 30 sets of muf recycling system from GN solids control in the past 5 years. Some of their mud recycling systems are tradional design with only shale shaker, desander, desilter 3 phase cleaning , some are with decanter centrifuge because of high percentage of fine solids in the drilling fluids.

This time they bought 4 sets of 1000gpm Mud Recycling System with GNLW452 middle speed decanter centrifuge, which is one of the most reliable working, high treating capacity with separation point 5 microns.

The main features of the 4 sets of mud recycling systems are the equipments are installed in a 20ft standard container frame, and the mud tank size is replaceable with standard 20ft container, during working, they are installed with screws. And during transportation from one place to another, they will be shipped by the vehicle fit for 20ft container size. This is for fast move, fast disassembly, fast installation purpose.

Not only for the mud recycling system, we can also adopt such design into drilling waste management system design for the same reason. In some cold temperature area, you can cover some tarpaulin outside the 20ft steel frame to keep them warm in winter, so you can save the money of heating lines to keep them warm and fluxible.

Sinopec purchased 3 sets of cuttings dryer GNCD930C from GN. These dryers are especially used for OBM, WBM or SBM treatment. Treating capacity is ranging from 30T to 50T based on the separating materials.
Now GN has upgraded the cuttings dryers to D version, rotating speed of the screen basket is 1200 RPM comparing the former 900 RPM. And the D version cuttings dryer is much more compact than the C version.

2. GN Decanter Centrifuge
Here they are using GNLW363CG centrifuge with fix speed. GN centrifuge has excellent working performance. All the screw propellers are protected by tungsten carbide tiles which are pretty helpful for anti-abrasion. GN centrifuges are using genuine bearings from SKF which can be used for long time.

Besides GN363 centrifuge, GN also has some other types of centrifuges in different bowl dimensions. Some are especially used for large treating capacity such as GNLW553 with 22 inch rotating bowl, and some are widely used on diamond drilling or coring drilling area such as GNLW223 centrifuges with 9 inch rotating bowl.
