Last week GN completed one unit vibrating screen for Chile exhibition. This shaker used 2 big power vibrator motor. And installed PU screen for anti-wear and longer lifetime. This vibrating screen can treat more than 60 cube meter mining sludge with high density per hour. In this vibrating screen design, all the connector part are fixed with bolt to instead of welding. This design can cancel the strain ,and along with the shaker running, bolt will be tighter and tighter. The deck angle is adjustable through increase or reduce the quantity of the flat of support foot. Actually this mining vibrating screen is not only used for mining , but also good for some other deawtering project, such as hydrovac sludge treatment. The installed PU screen can replace into different opening size according to particle size of material.

2 Sets GNDL-402 Screw Press Ready to Delivery

Screw press is one new designed GN equipment for dewatering. This screw press dewatering machine is very mature equipment in technology. However, GN start to design its own screw press from 2019 and and start on 2021. This machine is aimed to enrich the products line of GN dewatering system and provide more selection to our customer.

Last week we delivered 2 units GNDL-402 screw press dewatering machine to abroad customer for waster water treatment. Although it is a new know equipment of GN, but we understand this machine well. It was exported to lots country in the past 2 years. Different with Decanter centrifuge that utilize the separation G force to separate off the solids and liquid. Screw press dewatering is through press the sludge to reach the dewatering. From the electrical consumption. The power of screw press is lower much than Decanter centrifuge. And the discharged solids from screw press is dryer than Decanter as usually. However , both kind machine have different advantage and application. For Decanter centrifuge, which do not need chemical polymer as usually, but for screw press, the polymer using will directly affect the dewatering.

The sample work principle, makes the mechanical structure simple. and easy to maintenance. As usually, screw press will no damage. The main 2 core working part is move ring and fixed ring. The motor drive the shaft and make the ring move. The space between the move ring and fixed ring will decrease gradually .The liquid will be press out along with the ring move. After process by screw press, the moisture of discharged solids can reach 80%, this is dry enough for most dewatering project. Except screw press, we also can provide the matched polymer doing unit to prepare flocculant. The whole working program is automatic ,do not need worker to inspect.

GN Solids Vacuum Pumps for drilling waste cleaning to Africa

Last week we delivered 2 units vacuum pump to African customer for drill cutting transfer. Drill cutting is separated out from drill mud. High solids content and include different size particle . Some the solids of oil base drilling mud is also very high viscosity. The traditional pump is no way to transfer these kind material. GN solids vacuum pump is specially designed for this kind application.

From product name vacuum pump we can know it is different with traditional electrical pump. This pump is driven by high pressure air. The suck power was generated by venture structure . High speed air flow go through the venture, generate differential pressure inside and outside venture, and suck the air out from pump tank, then inside the tank will be a negative pressure space. Which will suck the material into the pump tank. After the tank full sludge, pump will switch to discharge model. High pressure air feed into pump, and then push solids out of pump tank , and finish the discharge.
As usually, the pump need at least 0.8 M pressure , higher pressure higher power. But as usually we control the air source lower than 1.4 Mpa. For different pump,required air flow is vary. Such as our bigger model GNSP-40B, need 17 cube meter air source per hour; for 20B required 8 m3 air supply. This pump is maintenance free. It is almost no spare parts. No wearing parts. But before stopping the machine, make sure the pump discharged all material inside of pump tank. Otherwise, some material will stick on pump after drying and block pump. Solids vacuum pump is not only used in oil gas industry, but also good at transfer dry solids powder, such as sand, and particle smaller than 5mm.

How to select the suitable shaker for drilling mud

Generally, the well pad must be equipped with at least one shale shaker. The purpose of shale shaker and other solid removal equipment is the same, which is to reduce the drilling cost. Drilling operation usually requires limiting the content and size of solids in drilling fluid. The shale shaker can remove large solids in drilling fluid that returns to the ground. If these solids are retained in the drilling fluid, many drilling problems will be caused. First, it is necessary to decide whether to choose a clay slip conveyor or a clay remover, which must be considered when cobalt meets new rock formations. Secondly, consider whether to use a coarse mesh screen. When a large amount of drilling cuttings or clay returns to the wellhead, it is necessary to use a coarse mesh screen. Generally speaking, when the drilling fluid flow rate exceeds 1000 gal/min when cobalt enters the open hole with a diameter of 172 in, it is required to use a coarse screen before using a fine screen. Finally, the number and type of the main shale shaker used to treat all drilling fluids should be selected. The selection goal is to make the unweighted drilling fluid pass through the most detailed screen cloth as much as possible. For weighted drilling fluid, the use goal of vibrating screen is to make all drilling fluid pass through the API200 mesh screen cloth (too fine screen cloth will remove more weighting agent).

The Using Limited of Shale Shaker in Solids Control Industry

As we all know shale shaker is the core equipment of solids control system for drilling mud treatment. But there are some situation which is not suitable to use shake :

When the end of the shale shaker starts to overflow drilling fluid (or the liquid phase in the drilling fluid), it indicates that the shale shaker has reached the limit of solid-liquid separation capacity. This limit is determined by the following two factors: (1) Fluid treatment limit, i.e. the maximum drilling fluid flow rate that can be handled by the shale shaker. (2) Solid phase treatment limit, that is the maximum amount of solid phase that the shale shaker can transport to the outlet. These two factors restrict each other. If the number of solid phase treated increases, the number of liquid phase that can be treated decreases.
All type of shale shaker and screen surface combination has a pure liquid phase (excluding solid phase) processing capacity, which depends on the characteristic parameters of the shale shaker (such as gravity factor, vibration frequency, vibration type, screen surface installation angle, etc.), screen surface characteristics (such as screen surface area and conductivity), and fluid performance (viscosity, density, additives, and fluid type). The treatment ability of pure liquid phase characterizes the treatment limit value when no solid phase is separated from the liquid phase. For the convenience of discussion, it is assumed here that there is no solid phase in the drilling fluid that is larger than the mesh size, although this is unlikely to occur in actual operation. The vibrating screen cloth is a percolation medium, and its treatment capacity is determined by permeability, grid distribution density (conductivity) and effective filter vector area. When the fluid viscosity increases (the influence of plastic viscosity is crucial, but the influence of dynamic shear force and gel strength cannot be ignored), the handling limit of the shale shaker decreases. When the fluid density increases, the treatment limit of the shale shaker increases. This is because when the drilling fluid flows through the screen surface, the increased weight will exert a downward force on the screen surface, thus making the drilling fluid pass through the screen surface faster.

GN 9 Inch Decanter Centrifuge for Diamond Core Drilling Mud Process

As we all know GN solids control has focused on the solids -liquid separation equipment for more than 15 years. Most work of diamond core drilling is in the filed, use diamond rig to drill the ground to get the mineral sample and test it to find the mine resource. This diamond rig machine is very small machine , and only consume a small quantity of mud, so most time it only require a single mini Decanter centrifuge to treat the drilling mud. Remove out the drill cutting and recycle the mud for reuse. GN 9 inch centrifuge is specially developed for this diamond drilling project. It is very small size and convenient for user to transport it in wield. Small power consumption and small treating capacity only 120 liter per hour, however this treating capacity is enough for these diamond drilling project.
This mini Decanter centrifuge mounted on a small mud tank to catch the discharged liquid, and then the pump can transfer the liquid back to drilling system. The centrifuge variable speed can satisfied most different kinds material, client can adjust speed according to the solids content and particle size. The user only need to take this single unit to solve most separation work.

Last week we delivered one shale shaker and one mud cleaner to China drilling company. Compare with normal shale shaker, we added spill proof cover on shaker and mud cleaner. It is not a complex design, but it is very useful for user to keep the clean of jobsite. This cover was manufactured by stainless steel, and has certain corrosion resistance, so it not only can be used for drilling mud treat ,it also can be used to process some special material such as mining sludge. This cove can be uninstalled when client do not use it.

When design this shale shaker, the engineer considered lots factor to convent user when operate this machine. Such as the wedge design to fix shaker screen. The user only need the Ratchet wrench to fasten and wedge to press shaker screen and fix it, it is very quick and high efficiency to replace shaker screen. And also the adjustable shaker deck, user only need to screw the jack-up device in one side of shale shaker, and then can adjust the deck angle from -1~+5°. GNZS-594 model can install the same size shaker screen of mongoose, so the user only can get the shaker screen from GN, but also can find the replacement screen in every where of global.

GN Mining Vibrating Screen

As we all know GN solids control has focused on solids control equipment of oil gas industry for more than 15 years. In the past 15 years, we built long terms relationship with many top energy company, and get the reputation from the market, meanwhile we accumulated lots manufacture experience of equipment and also separating technology. Different with oil gas industry, mining vibrating screen required much higher treating capacity and long lifetime. On solids control equipment, we used the steel wire mesh as the main filter material to separate the solids off liquid, and its lifetime is about 400 hours. However, 400 hours is too short for mining industry. Polyurethane material screen is a good selection for mining sludge. It is more anti-vibration and longer lifetime. As usually, one PU screen can user about half year. Except the material , the whole screen was spliced together by several small screen modular. When partial of screen was damaged, we just need to replace the damaged part, it is good to save money of screen.

BIG treating capacity is the most feature of mining vibration screen. The biggest model of GN mining vibrating screen can separate out 40m3/hour of dry solids. And this vibrating screen is 7×24 hours continuous work without stop. From the photos we can see, the vibrating deck wall used large rivet to instead of welding technology. This design of rivet can stress relief , and raise the wall strength.

The type of liquid phase in drilling mud

Today we will share some knowledge of liquid phase of drilling mud. The liquid phase of drilling fluid has many kinds of fluids that can be used as the liquid phase of drilling fluid. For example, fresh water, saline water, salty water, saturated saline water, diesel oil, crude oil and a variety of mineral oil and modified vegetable oil. Which liquid phase is selected mainly depends on the inhibition required by the drilled formation. The liquid phase has strong inhibition ability, which can prevent the reduction of soil fluid and the expansion of active solids, thus limiting the formation slurry making ability. Fresh water is the best medium for sticking to the hydration (expansion), and also the liquid with the worst inhibition

Oil is the best non-ionic inhibiting fluid. At present, water in oil-based drilling fluid exists in an emulsified state and is bound by oil. Therefore, this water in oil drilling fluid has the advantages of less damage to low pressure and low permeability reservoirs, preventing shale hydration expansion, preventing collapse, lubricity, maintaining the original state of active chips, weakening or completely stopping hydration, etc.

Salt water can also be used to inhibit the hydration of solids in the liquid phase. The inhibition ability depends on the concentration and type of salt dissociation. The higher the salt concentration is, the stronger the inhibition ability is, and the saturated salt water has the strongest inhibition ability.
