Shale Shakers and Vacuum Degassers for 2000HP drilling rig to Europe

GN Solids Control is pleased to announce the successful delivery of a complete solids control package to a European drilling contractor operating a 2000HP drilling rig. This latest shipment includes three GNZS594K high-performance shale shakers, one GNZJ594K-3S16N mud cleaner, one GNZCQ360 vacuum degasser, and one GNLW363D decanter centrifuge. The package forms a fully integrated solution designed to optimize drilling fluid quality, improve solids removal efficiency, and support overall rig performance in demanding drilling environments.

At the front end of the system, the three GNZS594K shale shakers handle the primary solids removal duty. The GNZS594K is GN’s flagship linear-motion shaker, equipped with a large 4-panel screen deck and engineered for high G-force vibration. The unit ensures effective separation of cuttings and protects downstream equipment by reducing solid loading. With quick-change screen technology, composite frame screens, and a robust mechanical structure, the GNZS594K provides the durability and efficiency required for 24/7 rig operations.

To further enhance solids control, the package includes one GNZJ594K-3S16N mud cleaner, an integrated unit combining a high-capacity shale shaker with 3 × 10-inch desander cones and 16 × 4-inch desilter cones. This three-stage separation system removes both sand-size and silt-size solids to maintain the drilling mud within the required parameters. By integrating hydrocyclone separation with fine-screen drying, the mud cleaner minimizes waste volume and reduces dilution costs for the rig operator.

Gas entrainment in drilling fluids can lead to pump cavitation, reduced mud density, and safety risks. To address this, GN supplied one GNZCQ360 vacuum degasser, designed specifically for high-capacity drilling rigs. The unit effectively removes entrapped gas from the drilling fluid without disturbing the mud properties. Featuring a belt-driven structure, stainless-steel components, and a maintenance-friendly design, the GNZCQ360 ensures stable mud density and protects the operation of centrifugal pumps and mud mixing equipment.

Completing the solids control line is the GNLW363D decanter centrifuge, one of GN’s most widely used models for barite recovery and fine-solids management. With a 14-inch bowl and a high-speed capability, the centrifuge efficiently removes low-gravity solids while allowing valuable barite to be reused. The GNLW363D provides consistent performance, simplified maintenance, and reliable operation under varying drilling conditions.

This package represents GN’s commitment to supporting global drilling contractors with advanced, field-proven solids control equipment. For operators in Europe, where environmental compliance, efficiency, and operational reliability are top priorities, GN provides a balanced solution that enhances mud quality, reduces waste, and helps lower overall drilling costs.

GN Solids Control continues to expand its footprint in the European oil and gas market by delivering reliable equipment solutions backed by professional service, fast delivery, and comprehensive technical support.
