2 Sets 1000GPM HDD mud cleaning system for Australia Customer

GN Solids Control has successfully delivered two complete 1000GPM HDD mud cleaning systems to a valued customer in Australia. These systems are designed to provide efficient drilling fluid recycling and solids separation for horizontal directional drilling (HDD) and other trenchless construction projects. With GN’s proven technology and modular design, the systems ensure cleaner drilling mud, reduced environmental impact, and improved project efficiency.

Each 1000GPM system consists of a 11.5-meter mud tank, two double-layer shale shakers, two 10-inch desander cyclones, ten 5-inch desilter cyclones, three centrifugal pumps, one jet mud mixing hopper, and one mud agitator. Together, these components form a compact, complete, and efficient mud recycling package capable of handling high mud volumes while maintaining consistent performance.

The dual-deck shale shakers serve as the first stage of solids control, effectively removing large and medium-sized particles from the drilling mud. The upper deck handles coarse solids, while the lower deck processes finer materials, maximizing solids removal efficiency. Equipped with GN’s high-quality composite frame shaker screens, the units ensure long life, easy maintenance, and fast screen replacement.

The desander and desilter cyclones represent the second and third separation stages. Made of wear-resistant polyurethane, the two 10-inch desander cones remove particles down to 45 microns, while the ten 5-inch desilter cones capture solids as fine as 20 microns. This multi-stage design guarantees a stable mud quality that meets the requirements of modern HDD operations.

The centrifugal pumps supplied with the system are GN’s GNSB series, known for their compact structure, high efficiency, and interchangeability with international brands. These pumps are used for both feeding the cyclones and mixing drilling fluids through the jet mud mixing system, which includes a venturi hopper to add bentonite or other additives efficiently.

All equipment is mounted on a heavy-duty mud tank with integrated walkways, ladders, and handrails for safe and easy access. The tank is coated with an anti-corrosion epoxy finish, ensuring long service life under harsh job site conditions.
The successful delivery of these two 1000GPM HDD mud cleaning systems once again highlights GN Solids Control’s expertise in providing turnkey trenchless mud treatment solutions. With years of experience and a strong presence in global HDD markets, GN continues to support customers with reliable, cost-effective, and environmentally responsible solids control equipment.
